How this site is funded
Affiliate commissions, at no extra cost to you, with nothing else in the model. Here is exactly how it works and what it does not buy.

The short version
Capo & Cable is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. We earn from qualifying purchases.
If you click a buy link on this site and purchase something, we may receive a commission. It costs you nothing extra — the price you pay is the same as it would be if you had gone to Amazon directly.
What the commission does not buy
- Placement in a ranking. No manufacturer or retailer can pay to appear here, or to appear higher.
- A favorable write-up. Every product page carries a "skip this if" section, including the ones ranked first.
- Removal of a criticism. Where a maker publishes no accuracy figure, no tension data or no load rating, we print that, and commission does not change it.
The practical guard against bias is that our reasoning is on the page. Every pick is argued from published specifications with their sources cited, so if a ranking had been bought you would be able to see the argument failing to support it.
Which networks we use
Amazon Associates only, under the tracking tag capoandcable-20.
We are not currently members of any other affiliate network. Where a brand runs its own affiliate program that we have not joined, we do not build a tracked link for it — a link we have not earned is not something to fake. If we join another network later, the destination for each product is a single configuration entry, so the change is a switch rather than a content rewrite, and this page will say so.
How the links work
Every commercial link on this site points at our own /go/ resolver, which redirects to the retailer. Three things follow from that:
- Outbound commercial links carry
rel="sponsored nofollow noopener", as Google's link policy requires. - The
/go/routes are set tonoindex, disallowed in robots.txt and excluded from the sitemap. - A click fires an analytics event before the redirect, so we can see how many people found a recommendation useful. It records the page and the destination, not you.
Prices
Prices on this site come from a live data feed and are stamped with the date we checked them. If that data is more than 48 hours old, every price on the site disappears automatically and the buttons read "check price" instead.
We currently hold no live price feed, which is why no prices are showing anywhere on the site. That is the gate working as intended: a remembered price is worse than no price.
We never publish a price we cannot verify against live data. Prices change constantly and a number typed into an article decays silently into a false statement.
Products
We accept no free products from manufacturers, and we have received none. We have not played, handled or owned any of the gear on this site, which is stated on every commercial page and set out in full on how we research.
Per-page disclosure
Every commercial page on this site carries a disclosure notice above the first buy link, and every buy button carries an #ad marker with a link back to this page. The FTC requirement is that a disclosure is encountered before a link is acted on, and that does not become optional on a page where we happen to have no price to show.
