Who I am

An enthusiast who is genuinely into this. I read the manuals, compile the published specs, and check what a thing actually costs today. No lab coat, no test bench, and no drawer of tuners a manufacturer sent me.

I write every page on Capo & Cable41 of them so far. The byline is a real person rather than a house name, which means when something here is wrong there is someone to tell.

What I claim

  • That I read the published specification for every product I write about, and cite the page it came from.
  • That where a maker publishes nothing, I say so rather than filling the gap.
  • That every price on this site comes from a live feed with a date stamp, and that where there is no verified price, no number appears.
  • That I name someone who should skip every product I recommend.

What I do not claim

  • That I have played this gear. I have not. Not one item on this site has been in my hands.
  • Any credential. I am not a luthier, a guitar tech or a qualified anything. Nobody reviews these pages in a professional capacity, and no page here says otherwise.
  • Tenure. You will not find "long-time", "veteran", "seasoned" or a number of years anywhere on this site. Interest is the honest framing; time served is not a claim I am going to make.
  • A team. There is no editorial panel and no expert board. It is one person and a lot of manufacturer PDFs.

Why the framing matters

The obvious move for a new site is to borrow the language of authority — testing, expertise, years behind the counter. It is also the easiest thing in the world for a reader to check and disbelieve, and once one claim falls over the rest of the page goes with it.

So the deal here is narrower and, I think, more useful: published numbers, cited sources, admitted gaps, and today's price. The full method is on how we research.
